Overview

Reporting to the AVP Project Manager, the Underwriting Operations Manager will be responsible for increasing operational efficiencies within the Lender Products Division, managing a team with direct responsibilities for accurate and timely booking of premium and issuance of policies.   

Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains relationships and resolves operational and procedural difficulties/issues with management, work teams, agents and administrators as necessary.
  • Looks at various work processes and determines the most efficient and effective ways to get the work done whether within own team, other Arch Teams or development of IT solutions.
  • Generates ideas for improvement across teams and implements approved changes. Takes calculated risks and is experimental to increase responsiveness, resolve issues and continuously raise the quality of work.
  • Works with new agents/administrators to set up data reporting processes and procedures to ensure quality premium reporting from the start of a relationship.
  • Partners with Underwriting, Actuarial and Finance teams to ensure source production data is adequately provided to generate key analytics and quarterly financials.
  • Assigns, distributes and coordinates work of the team with other teams ensuring consistent, efficient and timely delivery of service to drive superior results. Validates staffing levels and anticipates workforce demands. Ensures compliance with company and industry regulations, policies and guidelines.
  • Represents the team in meetings with management and provides input for management decision making.

Qualifications

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint are required

 

 EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • An undergraduate degree is preferred
  • Minimum 7 years or more of varied and progressively responsible experience in the insurance industry, including management responsibilities/managing staff
