  • Prepare rate filings for the major commercial lines of insurance. This includes preparing support exhibits, gathering required review data from internal reporting systems and other sources, preparing and gathering data for rate filing transmittal forms, locating relevant competitor information, and assisting in preparing responses to state insurance department inquiries.
  • Interact with Arch Underwriting Departments, Compliance, Legal, IT, regulators, and outside consultants on a regular basis to facilitate rate filing preparation and submission.
  • Assist in developing and testing of pricing models/tools.
  • Support Actuaries in other Pricing Units, as needed.



  • The candidate should have a Bachelor’s Degree – preferably in a related field (i.e., Mathematics, Computer Science and/or Actuarial Science). The candidate should have 2 - 7 years of work experience and knowledge of basic insurance and actuarial ratemaking concepts.
  • Completion of 2 to 5 CAS Exams would be ideal.



Key Competencies:


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel and Access
  • Working knowledge of Sequel, VBA, and Cognos would be a plus.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work accurately and efficiently with large amounts of data.
  • Must have the ability to multi-task, manage workflow, and meet project-specific timeframes and deadlines.
