Overview

The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for growing sales in existing markets and expanding into untapped markets using inside sales techniques and procedures (i.e. telephone solicitation, direct mail). This position may have a large territory and/or assigned list of mortgage lenders whom they will solicit with the intent to obtain mortgage insurance.  In addition, the associate will have the responsibility of profiling each mortgage lender and obtaining information including net worth, loan origination systems, AU preferences, areas of operation, technology, email, website technology and investors. This individual will also be responsible for providing data needed to plan sales strategies and make available information which National Accounts or Regional Managers would be able to utilize.  

This low cost channel will solicit large numbers of mortgage lenders in a cost efficient manner and will have specific sales goals and objectives as determined by senior sales executives.

Responsibilities

  1. Telephones mortgage lenders to obtain mortgage insurance and builds value added relationships. Utilizes appropriate direct marketing tools to enhance relationships and increase business.
  2. As needed, provide live demonstrations of Arch MI tools and services via sharing tools such as WebEx.
  3. Develops and demonstrates insight and intimate knowledge of customers’ businesses challenges and needs. Obtains critical customer information and analyzes and monitors customer performance to identify growth needs and potential problems in order to support operations.
  4. Achieves or exceeds stated account growth and NIW goals. Uses Solution Selling to sell a variety of complex products and services that will improve customers’ business.
  5. Understands competitors’ strengths and weaknesses and how Arch MI stands in comparison.   Effectively articulates to customer the differentiated impact of Arch MI’s offering on the customers’ business and processes.
  6. Provides excellent customer service & knowledge on the phone with questions about company services and products to encourage loyalty to the company and develops new avenues of business opportunity.
  7. Quickly and effectively responds/provides solutions to customer enquiries and objections ensuring “ease of use” and customer loyalty.
  8. Partners with National/Regional Accounts teams to provide data/information to drive new business.
  9. Keeps current on both national and local industry trends and contributes to the industry through networking, board and industry membership group participation and community involvement. Remains “plugged in” to market resources.

 

 

 

Qualifications

Knowledge & Skills:

  1. Ability to sell effectively over the phone using a variety of sales techniques including influence, persuasion, and communicating product benefits that meet customer needs.
  2. Ability to develop, implement and monitor account specific strategies and tactics to achieve NIW growth objectives.
  3. Expert understanding of the industry, Arch MI’s products and services, processes, systems guidelines and procedures.
  4. Superior communication and interpersonal skills, both oral and written.
  5. Experience in developing effective presentations/materials on a variety of sales related topics and delivering business proposals at all levels.
  6. Must possess sound judgment and critical thinking skills. Ability to assess customer needs and provide relevant solutions.
  7. Results driven, sense of urgency, solutions oriented, ability to utilize time effectively. Ability to work with remote teams.
  8. High level of technical proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products including Excel, Outlook, Word and Power Point; Familiarity with and high level of comfort using remote access tools (VPN), WebEx and Salesforce.com and other web-based tools.

 

Education & Experience:

 

Required knowledge & skills would typically be acquired through a Bachelor’s degree and 5 years sales experience with at least 3 years in the mortgage sales industry in the area of underwriting, processing or origination.
