The Position

The VP, Structured Capital & Reinsurance position manages the structured capital and reinsurance program for the Arch Global Mortgage Group.  


Job Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact to sourcing reinsurance outlets for the Global Mortgage Insurance Group
  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with Investment Banks and Reinsurance brokers
  • Responsible for Residential Mortgage loans
  • Develop and apply a thorough understanding of underlying mortgage loan performance, including probability of default, loss given default, and monthly transition rates
  • Take the lead in consulting with internal direct Mortgage Insurance writers on market conditions, including external mortgage risk appetite and market pricing
  • Lead and manage all activities related to evaluating and executing various types of reinsurance transactions
  • Work closely with the Global Mortgage model and analytics team in order to design capability for structured transaction modeling, pricing and evaluation



Desired Skills

  • Experience conducting mortgage loan performance analytics, including mortgage securitization cash flow analysis and projection utilizing Microsoft Excel and/or other relevant statistical software
  • Deep experience in Portfolio Risk Management
  • Broad knowledge of the Mortgage Insurance business, including all of the Business operational aspects, in order to effectively communicate to Fixed Income Investors
  • Solid organizational and management skills; ability to handle a complex project for executing a Capital Markets transaction from start to finish
  • Understanding of the Residential mortgage markets
  • Past negotiation experience with 3rd party vendors
  • In-depth understanding of Insurance and Credit Linked Securities
  • Full knowledge and understanding of GSE Credit Risk Transfer programs

Desired Education/Experience 

  • Bachelor's/Master’s Degree required or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience required.
  • Travel required.
