Department: Ceded Reinsurance

Location: Jersey City

 

Responsibilities

 

 

    • Catastrophe Modeling: Use external model (AIR, RMS) to assess catastrophe risk for commercial property, marine, onshore & offshore energy, and workers compensation lines of business.
    • A thorough understanding of vendor catastrophe models is a requirement (AIR, RMS).
    • Work with IT developers to enhance the underwriting process
    • Data Controls Support: Implement controls for the purpose of data completeness and accuracy
    • This includes the auditing of data records

 

Qualifications

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Strong analytical, problem solving approach
  • Clear communicator, able to structure an argument and ability to explain complex issues in a simple way
  • Strong organizational and time management skills required
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Coding requirement in MSSQL, MS Access
  • VBA, C# , GIS preferred , but not required
  •  

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor degree with majors in mathematics, statistics, engineering or related fields
  • At least 5-10 years experience with 3rd party catastrophe modeling software, AIR is preferred
  • Management experience is preferred, but not required
  • Team player interested in sharing knowledge 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skill and critical thinking required
