The Underwriting Operations Specialist participates in underwriting operations support functions in the company’s Lender Products Division. Functions related to this position include premium loading and balancing, premium auditing, new client setup and production of management reports.   



Specific responsibilities may include:

  • Responsible for processing premium batches for all Lender Division Products that are received from our agents and administrators
  • Contact and resolve with agents and administrators any data or reconciliation issues with the premium batches
  • Conduct in-house audits related to the accuracy of new premium transactions and refund transactions for the Lender Division Products
  • Participate in the monthly contingent commission processing for the agents and administrators when needed
  • Identify and recommend to the Underwriting Operations Manager process or system changes to improve data capture or overall product management related to the various products
  • Other duties and/or special projects as assigned


Education & Experience: 

  • Four year undergraduate degree preferred
  • 3 years of prior experience in insurance industry involving insurance/premium accounting and/or insurance underwriting operations
  • Experience working with agents/F&I administrators or financial institutions while not required is an added benefit.

 Key Competencies: 

  • Knowledge of insurance premium processing and policy management systems/databases is required
  • Customer service and negotiating skills are also helpful in dealing with existing clients and prospects
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (various data file formats ie. .CSV .TXT) and Word are also required
  • Analytical and Accounting reconciliation skills preferred
