Works with VP of Product Development to lead the process of defining, developing and implementing new mortgage insurance products. Builds the business justification for new product ideas and provides recommendations for implementation to senior management. Conducts research and outreach to existing customers and internal sales employees to identify new solutions and features that address customer needs in the mortgage insurance industry. Performs complex market research projects or participates in cross-functional projects as a team member. Provides information to internal and/or external customers based on research and analysis.

Research & Development – Conduct research and outreach to existing customers to identify new solutions and features that address customer needs in the mortgage insurance space. Perform complex market research projects or participate in complex projects as a team member. Provide information to internal and/or external customers


Data Analysis – Build models using advanced Excel skills that support product ideas.


Build Consensus – Work closely with credit policy, pricing and risk management to build consensus on new product ideas and address any concerns.


Project Management – Operate in a project lead capacity during product development. Define scope and track project. Resolve issues. Manage timely and effective deployment. Adhere to appropriate compliance and controls related to product development.


Implement and Train – Manage lender and vendor implementations. Educate customers. Develop product documentation, FAQs, reference materials for internal and external audiences, and customer training.


Market and Promote – Work with colleagues in Marketing to design and develop marketing initiatives, promotions, and communications related to specific products, product lines, or product areas.


Measure Results – Test products. Ensure that products and product enhancements yield expected business results. Make adjustments as needed.





Knowledge & Skills:

  1. Self-driven individual with strong innovation and change orientation.
  2. Demonstrable experience in idea conceptualization, design and commercialization.
  3. Able to problem-solve and prioritize independently.
  4. Proven experience in product development and in-depth knowledge of mortgage industry.
  5. Ability to interact and coordinate effectively with internal and external customers.
  6. Strong cross-functional leadership ability to drive tangible results with business partners. Ability to influence at all levels within the organization.
  7. Superior verbal and written communication skills, including strong presentation and interpersonal skills.
  8. Successful track record engaging at senior levels in the organization.
  9. Strong project management skills, prioritization of resources across multiple projects.
  10. Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.


Education & Experience:


Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree or MBA preferred.


8-10 years of overall experience in banking, insurance, financial services industry with at least 5 years in the mortgage industry.
