    Responsibilities

    Overview:  The Corporate Training approach to learning and development combines formal classroom education, on-the-job training, group mentoring, and seminar attendance.  We engender a strong spirit of partnership among Arch leaders and create a natural learning organization by encouraging Arch executives to become teachers, subject-matter experts, and coaches.  This ensures accurate knowledge transfer to Arch professionals.

     

    Position Description:

    Responsible for strategically planning and budgeting for all programs offered through Corporate Training, implementing each program, and evaluating the learning outcomes.  Programs run from one day to two weeks and target all levels of the organization.  Programs include:

     

    • Open Registration Courses
    • Underwriter Training Program
    • Advanced Underwriter Training Program
    • Leadership Development Program
    • Advanced Leadership Development Program
    • Executive Education Program

     

    Activities:

    • Elicit employee nominations from senior management on select programs and manage open registration on all other programs.
    • Partner with various learning organizations, consultant firms, and universities.
    • Develop and deliver training programs as the organizational need is identified.
    • Administer train-the-trainer programs.
    • Work with subject-matter experts on presentations including PowerPoints.
    • Run dinner events as part of the training programs, which includes venue contracting, menu selection, RSVPs, etc.
    • Manage the budget, training calendar, and all aspects of the programs including invitations, participant lists, participant binders, handouts, evaluations, etc.
    • Research and recommend external courses for individual training needs.
    • Work with many areas of the organization, including Legal, Travel & Events, IT, Accounts Payable, Procurement, Human Resources, Facilities, Corporate Administrative Services, and Executive Administration.

    Qualifications

     

    Experience:

    Prior experience in training and development and running training events.

     

    Competencies:

    • Knowledge of adult learning and organizational development.
    • Ability to see the big picture yet possesses keen attention to detail and quality.
    • Strong oral communication, writing, and editing skills.
    • Ability to interact effectively with people at all levels of the organization as well as external consultants and professors.
