    Responsibilities

    The Position

    This position will be responsible for Data and Reconciliations processes for Arch Investement Management (AIM), reporting to the VP, Investement Operations Manager. The Analyst, Investment Data and Reconciliation will be part of the operations team responsible for ensuring the optimal delivery of operations services across all the products that AIM invests in and will partner with legal/compliance and performance teams as well as portfolio managers and service providers to deliver efficient and effective operational support to our firm.

    Candidates must have recent, prior experience working in reconciliation and data management for an asset manager, broker dealer or hedge fund and have knowledge of both traditional and alternative investments, including understanding of processing requirements for complex asset types including futures, swaps, credit derivatives, private equity, and bank loans.

     

    Job Responsibilities

    • Perform data administration and normalization - ensure data is in the proper format for upload and secondary use
    • Enforce and support data policies for data warehouse and file storage systems to ensure properly normalized data and golden copy of data while ensuring proper security and compliance is in place

    • Monitor data file storage hierarchy and remedy when necessary
    • Maintain data in the data warehouse while demonstrating the highest level of data integrity
    • Perform reconciliation functions daily, weekly, and monthly as needed for Security Master File, Pricing, and other data sources
    • Ensure cash and positions for respective Funds/Portfolios are reconciled accurately, efficiently, and on a timely basis with custodians and other external parties, as well as across multiple internal systems
    • Oversee the data quality produced by the RPA tool – converting External Manger statements to structured data – and remedy as necessary. Prior knowledge of the RPA is not required
    • Work on ad-hoc projects and contribute ideas and recommendations to improve process efficiencies and increase risk mitigation

     

     

     

    Qualifications

    Desired Skills

    • Knowledge of traditional and alternative investments, including understanding of processing requirements for complex asset types including futures, swaps, credit derivatives, private equity, and bank loans
    • Knowledge of data warehousing, file storage systems, and data models
    • Structured, disciplined approach to work with attention to detail
    • Good interpersonal skills combined with willingness to listen and ability to manage conflict well
    • Ability to multi-task and work on multiple initiatives
    • Flexible and able to meet changing requirements and priorities
    • Ability to react positively under pressure to meet tight deadlines
    • Demonstrates initiative with regard to increasing own knowledge and assuming additional responsibility
    • Knowledge of Aladdin, BNY Workbench necessary; Prefer experience with Clearwater and Burgiss
    • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel 
    • Knowledge of external reference data providers - Bloomberg, Reuters

    Desired Education/Experience

    • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting
    • 3+ years experience in investment operations for a large financial institution
