    Responsibilities

    The Position

     

    The VP, Investment Systems, AIM will responsible for IT strategy and implementation in support of Arch Investment Management (AIM) including the product strategy, product roadmap development, and market delivery/operation of the product offerings. This position will report to the Chairman, GSO and the SVP, Chief Investment Services Officer.  A successful candidate would be an experienced dynamic, multidimensional digital professional who is strategic, technologically savvy, and skilled in both product strategy and operational efficiencies.

     

     

    Job Responsibilities

    • Understand the strategic direction of AIM and manage the technology applications and data integrations to enhance the operation of the business

    • Perform market research, market validation and whitespace analysis to identify new opportunities for existing and new features and functionality
    • Active in the design, planning, system selection, development and configuration, implementation, testing, and support
    • Foster close relationships with key market constituents to validate product strategy and roadmap
    • Deeply understand the business case for proposed products and initiatives in assigned business segment, including cost/benefit estimates, market trends, competitive and risk analysis, industry best practices and product development timelines

    • Define requirements, test plans, and deployment plans in support of the investment group

    • Prioritize, manage, and communicate plans for system capabilities and deployment

    • Work within the Information Technology (IT) group and manage service providers to implement the needs of the business

    • Function as IT project manager and business analyst

    • Communicate the status of projects and deliverables to individuals involved

     Desired Education/Experience

    • Bachelor's Degree required
    • Investment management experience is required with 10+ years in the industry; direct experience with Risk, Performance Attribution, Accounting, Data Warehousing, Workflow and Reconciliation systems for Investment teams and asset manager is ideal
    • Experience with project management and/or implementation of system requirements based on changes in workflow or changes in business requirements
    • 15+ years business analysis experience including writing detailed business plans and business cases with detailed scopes of work, business process reengineering, building test case scenarios and data quality initiatives for system integration projects
    • Prior experience with the suite of Blackrock Aladdin tools, Bloomberg and Clearwater is preferred
