    Responsibilities

    The Position

    We are looking for a results driven, self-starter to join our team as VP, IT Operations. The VP, IT Operations will provide day to day operational management of the core technology platform, data operations, and IT service management.  This person will work closely with ATS leadership, engineering and architecture to establish and maintain performance measures and technology strategy to achieve service level goals.  In addition to the responsibilities listed below, the VP, IT Operations will ensure compliance with IT operational controls and manage the integrity of corporate data and related intellectual property through information security and access management.

     

    Job Responsibilities

    • Organize and manage an infrastructure services delivery organization to provide infrastructure as a shared service to Arch companies
    • Manage the global network, voice, computing, and storage environments to meet the needs of the supported companies
    • Maintain staffing and support for a global operation supporting user needs 24 hours a day 7 days per week
    • Manage the service center and ensure strong client satisfaction in providing first level support functions
    • Develop and implement an effective technology management environment with methods and processes geared to maintain a cost effective and current systems platform
    • Establish and direct a corporate information technology operations function to control and manage corporate data and proprietary information in accordance with business needs
    • Develop and implement an effective disaster recovery capability for all systems specified in the BCP plans
    • Manage the day to day operation, ensure application availability and performance, and maintain structured control of the environment
    • Provide and direct a competent IT Operations capability to execute programs and policies
    • Determine needs and work with the engineering and architecture teams to develop infrastructure technology and operations strategy
    • Oversee global IT support environment, including off-shore support model for end user and infrastructure support
    • Monitor network and systems to maximize uptime and establish improvements in operations to support continuous improvement
    • Coordinate the design, development, implementation and usage of operational technology software and/or service offerings
    • Provide regular reports on computer and systems technology to Arch IT leadership
    • Maintain and control of the change management process and requisite deployment
    • Document operational policies and processes and strategies for optimization and improvement of core functions
    • Provide for the highest level of support to non-technical line and staff user functions in the evaluation of technology applications usage

     

    Qualifications

    Desired Skills

    • Previous experience with the delivery of infrastructure services either internally or as a third party vendor
    • Strong IT, data center operations and managed services experience with client service focus
    • Experience with variance infrastructure service providers including, managed services, hosting, and/or cloud providers
    • Knowledge of the network and systems technology supported at Arch (Cisco, EMC Storage, IBM iSeries)
    • Ability to work with technical teams, business partners and software vendors to implement system modifications on time
    • Strong track record in building strong relationships with clients and business partners
    • The ability to effectively communicate business and technical information to audiences with varying backgrounds including offshore teams and technical development teams
    • Ability to effectively plan, facilitate, and participate in meetings with employees from all organizational levels
    • Effectively use teamwork to contribute to a high-morale/high-performance team culture, leading by example
    • Strong skills in prioritization and reprioritization to react to a dynamic environment as Arch continues to evolve
    • Demonstrated management of 24 hour operations with global experience, preferred

    Required Education/Experience 

    • BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or related field
    • MBA or equivalent, preferred
    • 15-20 years of in-depth information technology experience, including demonstrated management-level technology leadership with global responsibility
