  • Overview

    The Arch MI Enterprise Risk Management department supports all business units in identifying, measuring, monitoring, controlling and continuously reporting on the risks to which Arch MI is or could potentially be exposed. This function is also responsible for the development of the requisite strategies, controls and reporting processes. The Enterprise Risk Management department reports relevant risks to the appropriate risk committees within Arch MI, the Arch MI Board of Directors and Arch Capital Group Ltd.

     

    The Enterprise Risk Management Manager develops and coordinates enterprise risk program materials including statements, governance documents, and policies to support the goals and initiatives of Arch MI. He/she provides expertise and guidance to the development and maintenance of enterprise risk documents and the metrics displayed in the quarterly dashboard. The incumbent operates under general guidelines with latitude to determine methods, works independently on assignments and receives general direction on new or complex projects.

     

    The Enterprise Risk Management Manager will focus on finance and accounting aspects of the Enterprise Risk Management program.

    Responsibilities

    1. Collaborate with the business to complete annual revision to Enterprise Risk Management policies
    2. Collaborate with the business to develop and maintain risk metrics
    3. Collaborate with the business to complete the risk and control self-assessment
    4. Lead the quarterly enterprise risk assessment process to gather information from the business, assess risk levels and prepare final report for the risk committees and board of directors
    5. Prepare materials for, and participate in, risk committee meetings
    6. Participate in group projects as the Enterprise Risk Management representative
    7. Develop and communicate timelines, tasks, and due dates on all projects
    8. Schedule and coordinate project work. Evaluate and communicate project progress; recommend changes to improve effectiveness or timeliness
    9. Conduct meetings with the business and executive management to gain buy-in and achieve results
    10. Complete ad hoc projects

     

     

    Qualifications

    Knowledge & Skills:

     

    1. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, ability to understand complex topics
    2. Excellent written/verbal communication, organizational skills and attention to detail
    3. Excellent collaboration skills
    4. Proficient in MS Office product suite
    5. Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work under pressure while ensuring accuracy and completeness of information
    6. Advanced knowledge of the principles, concepts, strategies and practices used in risk management a plus

     

    Education & Experience:

     

    1. BA/BS Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field
    2. Three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience required
    3. Currently pursuing or completed graduate degree preferred
