    Responsibilities

    The Position

    The Senior Reinsurance Accountant will perform all aspects of treaty accounting for assigned brokers including thorough account analysis, entry into reinsurance system, and cash settlement. This person will participate in the preparation of monthly closing reports and quarterly underwriting results.

     

    Job Responsibilities

    • Analyze & process monthly/quarterly treaty reinsurance accounts:
      • Reconcile broker invoices to supporting documentation
      • Review premium & loss bordereaux to ensure compliance with treaty terms & to identify catastrophe or large loss activity
    • Prepare/apply cash receipts and disbursements for assigned brokers
    • Document and resolve account or cash issues
    • Confirm and process adjustable features on contingent and sliding scale commissions as well as premium adjustments
    • Assist in the preparation of Assumed & Ceded Schedule F
    • Follow-up on settlement of overdue account receivable balances and missing accounts
    • Participate in the preparation of monthly and quarterly reports

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Proficient Microsoft Excel, specifically in pivot table & v-lookup functionality
    • Experience with Microsoft Access including query creation

     

    Required Education/Experience 

    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
    • +5 years assumed and ceded Reinsurance Accounting experience
