    The Position

    The Manager, Corporate Accounting & Reporting will perform and assist management of traditional property and casualty record keeping, financial statement preparation, accounting operations (reinsurance, payroll, accounts payable and accounts recievable) of our facultative operation. 

    This position will require approximately 50% travel.  



    Job Responsibilities

    • Oversee financial reporting of Facultative Reinsurance unit including overseeing remotely located direct report with daily, weekly and monthly responsibilities including to:
      • Prepare and manage journal entries including, but not limited to cash receipts and disbursements, payroll, depreciation, accruals prepaids and intercompany transactions
      • Manage the Facultative bank accounts and wire payments, along with the daily cash reports
      • Manage monthly bank reconciliations for payroll and operating accounts
      • Complete various statistical government surveys and reports
    • Prepare various quarterly reconciliations including, but not limited to:
      • Fixed assets, prepaid expenses, intercompany balances, and bonus schedules
      • Analyze quarterly direct cash flow reports and quarterly global operating expenses for executive management
      • Manage GAAP to STAT adjustments
      • Assist in the preparation of the quarterly and annual statutory statement
    • Assist with preparation of the unit's budgeting process and the forecasting process
    • Manage the preparation of Premium Tax filings and select Property Tax filings
    • Work with Accounts Payable to complete 1099s to US Treasury Department and applicable states

    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel

    Required Education/Experience 

    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and/or Finance is required
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Property/Casualty Insurance Industry

    • Experience with the Statutory Annual Statement is required
