  • Overview

    The HO Premium Audit AVP is located in Arch’s Jersey City office and acts as a point of contact for premium audit issues and services required for those business divisions within the premium audit team’s scope. This individual must be able to work under pressure, including managing deadlines and staff who are located in both the Jersey City and Manila (GSO) offices.  


    It is expected this person will serve as a change agent and key member of the premium audit leadership team. This position will drive on-going process improvement in compliance, audit procedures and document upgrades that will ensure effective and efficient operation of the department.  In addition, the Premium Audit AVP is accountable for execution of the Quality Control Program that is focused on ensuring timely and accurate premium audit review, including but not limited to adherence to all Regulatory and Statutory requirements, Corporate Policies and Procedures, as well as Premium Audit Policies and Procedures.  


    This person must have experience working with Workers’ Compensation, Commercial Automobile, and General Liability policies covering businesses from construction to complex high value accounts, spanning multiple states, and ranging from $5,000 to multi-million dollar premiums.   


    Customer Service:

    • Drive the audit assignment process for each of the businesses serviced
    • Monitor open inventory and push for completion of audits on a timely basis
    • Interact with audit vendor partners as needed
    • Ensure audit issues and disputes are resolved in a timely and effective manner
    • Keep business divisions apprised of audit progress, trends, and issues
    • Provide monitoring reports monthly, or as needed

    Productivity, Time Service and Technical Quality:

    • Build and implement a quality review process for all vendor handled audits
    • Ensure Audit Analysts meet or exceed established objectives and application of quality standards in completion of assigned audits for review
    • Support the department goals of meeting or exceeding Bureau Test Audit standards in those states where applicable

    Leadership, Learning and Growth:

    • Contribute depth to the organization by participating in personal growth opportunities and assist/encourage continued learning for staff
    • Expand job knowledge and skills through the pursuit of internal and external educational opportunities
    • Identify training needs and follow through by securing, or creating and delivering, the necessary Premium Audit training programs
    • Actively seek opportunities to be involved in special projects, both within and outside of Premium Audit



    • Knowledge of Workers Compensation statutory rules and requirements
    • Possess medium, to high levels of expertise with Microsoft Excel
    • Posses excellent communication (verbal & written) and sales skills to be able to work with an insured or risk manager, to assist in dispute resolution
    • Ability to always interact with others in a positive and professional manner
    • Knowledge of the NEXUS audit software is a plus


    • A minimum of ten (10) years experience delivering the complete suite of premium audit services, including but not limited to the ability to understand binder and policy language, auditors’ worksheets and classification analysis
    • Management/Operations experience (e.g., ability to examine and improve upon workflow) is desired
    • College degree or a minimum of 10 years equivalent business experience
