    The Copywriter will support the marketing and communication objectives of Arch MI by contributing actively to copywriting initiatives that effectively and persuasively elevate Arch MI’s reputation and forge strong connections with employees, customers, shareholders, and other stakeholders.

    Reporting to the Sr. Marketing Communications Manager in Marketing, this role supports multiple marketing and communication efforts at both strategic and tactical levels. It requires a creative thinker with the ability to translate creative brand strategies into engaging and meaningful copy and to communicate effectively verbally, visually, and in writing.

    Responsibilities

    1. Write and edit high-quality, accurate communications, ensuring external messaging is clear, correct, and consistent with company strategy.
    2. Collaborate with marketing, creative services, and other key teams to develop messages that support and promote the Arch MI brand, products, culture, and strategic initiatives.
    3. Partner with art directors and designers on concept and design.
    4. Contribute to the overall creative process and communication strategy through brand voice, vocabulary, phrasing, and adherence to brand standards.
    5. Produce a range of communications including, but not limited to, products, services and programs; sales promotional materials; technical guides; newsletters; websites; social media channels; brochures; posters; banners; signage; articles; announcements; PowerPoint presentations; videos; print ads; special event communications; and more.
    6. Assess copy (written by in-house and agency copywriters), determining and performing level of edits necessary, revising, rewriting, and reorganizing for clarity, comprehension, use of language, sequence of thought, logic, flow, and consistency.
    7. Assist in planning and assignment of copywriting team work.
    8. Develop team expertise in relevant areas (both technical and business-specific) to support business strategy.

     

     

     

    Qualifications

    Knowledge & Skills:

    1. Familiarity with mortgage finance industry concepts, operations, and vocabulary
    2. Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills. Ability to produce clear, compelling, motivating communications for a variety of audiences and channels.
    3. Strong editing and proofreading skills; can pay attention to detail while simultaneously capable of seeing the whole picture.
    4. Ability to translate complex ideas and concepts into language easily understood by non-specialists.
    5. Strong business acumen and broad experience/understanding of marketing.
    6. Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
    7. Ability to conceptualize and articulate strategy and get buy-in from cross-functional partners
    8. Proven ability to successfully handle multiple projects and meet critical deadlines in fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
    9. Team player. Flexible. Results-oriented, service-oriented, and with a passion for creativity and innovation.
    10. Strong focus on customer service.
    11. Graphic design and production capabilities are a plus, but not required. However, a conceptual mind and ability to think visually are essential, as are strong computer skills.

    Education & Experience:

    1. Required knowledge and skills would typically be acquired through a Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism or a related field (MA or MBA preferred).
    2. 2-3 years’ experience in marketing and communications, preferably in financial services.
    3. Experience working with executives on messaging, presentations and positioning.
    4. Experience working collaboratively with designers and project managers to creative cohesive, inspired application of the written word and creative concepts.
    5. Excellent time management skills.
