  • Overview

    This individual will have a broad range of responsibilities in our finance group focusing on the underwriting and internal agency operations of our Travel division, overseeing one direct report. The position will have exposure across the organization including but not limited to liaising with Finance management, the Travel underwriting team and our IT and Business Process Management departments along with external producers to manage the financial data and reporting.  


    This role offers the opportunity to learn and analyze our growing Travel business and also about the Company's other divisions. The ideal candidate has strong written and oral communication skills, an analytical mindset, and the ability to multitask in order to effectively manage his or her time across various roles and responsibilities.   


    Job Responsibilities

    • Develop and refine financial accounting and reporting controls and procedures to support the business
    • Maintain process maps and identify, design and implement Finance process improvements and re-engineer workflows as necessary
    • Continuously promote financial efficiency, including standardizing practices around data flows, credit control and the agency operations
    • Interact directly with business stakeholders to provide support and review financial results
    • Develop and implement project plans and best practices to ensure effective delivery is achieved
    • Work collaboratively and develop strong relationships other teams (Financial Reporting, Business, IT, etc.)
    • Display teamwork, integrity and leadership 
    • Maintain adequate focus on personal growth; proactively seek relevant education and training

    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
    • Vizio or other relevant process mapping, Cognos and Great Plains experience is a plus


    Required Education/Experience 

    • Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Finance 
    • Prior insurance accounting knowledge (minimum 5 years) and a working knowledge of the Property & Casualty insurance market, particularly Travel
    • Knowledge of insurance agency operations is a plus
