    The SVP, National Accounts drives a team of executive level sales professionals assigned to medium to large national accounts to meet or exceed production, and quality targets with direct ownership of meeting new insurance written (NIW) quality and return goals for assigned accounts. Leads a team of highly experienced and results oriented sales professionals. Subject matter expert for his/her team and develops strategies and plans to maximize profitable business results.

    Responsibilities

    1. In collaboration with National Account VPs (VPNA), develops and maintains strategic, long-term relationships and builds advocacy with key executive level customer contacts to promote Arch US MI products and services. Acts as trusted advisor and strategic thinking partner to customer contacts.
    2. Through deep understanding of the mortgage process and customer behavior, develops business plans and associated strategies for national accounts. Addresses challenging and complex competitive situations and   understands competitor strengths and weaknesses and actively promotes Arch US MI’s advantages in comparison.
    3. Oversees the development, implementation and maintenance of account plans and uses metrics to monitor progress against goals for national accounts.
    4. Develops staff (VPNAs) to achieve stated NIW goals.
    5. Prioritizes and allocates resources to support customers and retain key accounts. Ensures all resources assigned to account are effectively utilized and working successfully in a consistent and cohesive manner to support all aspects of customer needs and fully realize all potential business opportunities.
    6. Provides subject matter expertise to team in regard to market trends, company programs, products and services.
    7. Strategically partners with national underwriting operations to compliment customer needs, expedite customer requests for programs and products and to effectively balance production and quality goals and company objectives.
    8. Keeps abreast of industry/market trends and new developments in mortgage lending through networking, board and industry membership group participation and community involvement. Attends regional and national industry group conferences.
    9. Accountable for developing and maintaining departmental budgets. Controls sales cost within assigned team. Tracks revenue per expenses.
    10. Ensures VPNAs input thorough and relevant account information in the CRM (customer relationship management) system. Reviews and analyzes data and collaborates with Field Sales team to establish priorities based on data analysis
    11. Manages staff to accomplish results through effective recruitment and selection, training, development and coaching, performance management and recognition.
    12. Coaches VPNAs to effectively lead and execute the sales process and develop skills consistent with company sales strategy.

     

     

     

    Qualifications

    Knowledge & Skills:

    1. Proven track record of leading a team of highly experienced, results oriented sales people.
    2. Possess 10+ years mortgage industry experience which results in strong mortgage market expertise. Broad expertise of mortgage lending and mortgage insurance, to include at least one key area such as: underwriting, processing, secondary marketing.
    3. Demonstrated understanding of Capital Markets, specific to mortgage related products.
    4. Exhibited experience and knowledge of structured transactions.
    5. Mastery of sales skills, models, methods and best practices. Effective at handling and successfully resolving objections.
    6. Expertise in customer service orientation with the ability to develop and maintain long term customer satisfaction and loyalty. Ability to effectively manage multiple business contacts and their issues.
    7. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to effectively negotiate, persuade, and influence executive level decision makers, internally and externally. Existing relationships with key executives and decision makers at top 50 lenders.
    8. Advanced strategic decision making and problem solving abilities to determine effective resource allocation and address complex customer issues.
    9. Exceptional knowledge of Arch US MI products and services.
    10. High level of technical proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products including Excel, Outlook, Word and Power Point; Familiarity and high level of comfort using remote access tools (VPN) and Salesforce.com and other web-based tools.
    11. Up to 50% travel required.

     

    Education & Experience:

     

    Required knowledge and skills would typically be acquired through a Bachelors degree and 12+ years experience in Sales including 5 years in Sales Leadership and 3-5 years people management experience.
