    Position Description:

    The Assistant Vice President, Data and Analytics, Strategy & Distribution position is responsible for managing internal data, creating reporting tools, analyzing results, managing external data (e.g. MarketStance), external research, and supports the entire Strategy & Distribution division. 

    Responsibilities

    This position is directly accountable for the following responsibilities:

     

    Planning

    • Participate in the development of new programs and enhancement of existing programs through the analysis of third party databases to evaluate industry opportunity.
    • Enhance database reporting capabilities to facilitate ease of use broadly across Arch. Work with various users to create standardized reports that fulfill majority of reporting needs for different users and create capability for users to create ad hoc reports.  

    Executing

    • Participate in regularly scheduled calls and meetings. This will facilitate an understanding of data and reporting needs.
    • Contribute in the research, selection and adoption of new technologies to fulfill team responsibilities.
    • Requirements gathering and, development of specifications for data integration projects and reconciliation metrics.
    • Ensure that Data Integrity/Quality exists for all information/reports developed to support projects/initiatives with relevant analytics, reporting, data reconciliation methodology.
    • Develop standard operating procedures for data analytics reporting.
    • Issue resolution/escalation including prioritization and tracking.

    Measuring

    • Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly standard and ad hoc reports for stakeholders throughout Strategy & Distribution as well as business units, ensuring accuracy of data, and providing overview analysis as needed for the recipients. Build production database to include results from all Arch Business Units.
    • Obtain and analyze available results for distributors to understand Arch performance relative to producer results.
    • Provide analytical support to Strategy & Distribution team, including regional management, national client management and business unit marketing.

    Partnering

    • Participate in company initiatives and projects as needed as the Subject Matter Expert regarding data and reporting.
    • Work directly with IT, Statistical Reporting, Claims, Finance and UW teams to document data, reporting, reconciliation requirements, manage analysis, and develop/review specifications for enterprise data integration projects.

    Qualifications

    Preferred Technical Skills:

    • Knowledge of MS Outlook, Powerpoint, Word and Excel
    • Knowledge of Marketstance, COGNOS, and other databases

    Required Education/Experience: 

    • Experience in data integration and data quality projects.
    • Proven working experience as a data analyst or business data analyst in the Financial Services sector
    • Technical expertise regarding data mining
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
    • Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings
    • Five-seven year’s experience in Data Analytics/Reporting
    • BS in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics preferred
