    The Position

    The Full Stack.NET Software Engineer II is responsible for the implementation of systems and tools to perform risk aggregation, risk modeling, portfolio management, pricing, and underwriting. This key role will be instrumental in building and maintaining a Data Warehouse integrated with downstream systems, providing portfolio aggregation capabilities and other analytics on modeling results produced by financial models, exposure data, and more, for the Global Mortgage Group.


    Job Responsibilities

    • Implements, and maintains risk aggregation, risk modeling, portfolio management, pricing, and underwriting systems and tools;
    • Builds and maintains a Data Warehouse platform and ETL tools that integrate with internal systems, leveraging modern database technologies, providing portfolio aggregation capabilities and other analytics on modeling results produced by financial models, exposure data, and more, housing many terabytes of risk and transaction data;
    • Partners with product & engineering teams to build tools for scenario simulation, data quality and augmentation, exposure modeling, and accumulation management;
    • Provides ad hoc project support for several pricing, optimization and reinsurance evaluations involving portfolio and account loss analytics, as well as modeling and analysis of risk exposures;
    • Provide ad hoc support on build & release automation tooling and work with the development team on all aspects of SLDC, including code-reviews and QA testing;
    • Builds and maintains user front-ends for interfacing with back-end systems as part of deal management workflows
    • Provide end-user support on tools and reporting processes.

    Desired Skills/Experience

    Knowledge & Skills

    • Good knowledge of the practices and procedures of software engineering;
    • Good understanding of programming paradigms, especially object-oriented programming, and design patterns;
    • Experience developing Windows client applications in .NET/C# using WPF and Windows Forms frameworks;
    • Strong working knowledge of T-SQL and variants (e.g., ANSI SQL, PL/SQL, etc.) in relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, etc.);
    • Experience developing and enhancing highly efficient queries, stored procedures, user-defined functions, views, etc.;
    • Experience building Web applications in .NET/C# using ASP.NET MVC, AngularJS and Bootstrap frameworks;
    • Knowledge of version control tools such as Git, SVN etc.;
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to deal effectively with internal and external contacts;
    • Highly effective organizational skills with the ability to create, implement and monitor projects of varying difficulty and complexity.

    Required Education/Experience 

    • Required knowledge and skills would typically be acquired through a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or other IT related field and a minimum of 3-5 years job-related experience.
