  • The Position

    The Position

    The Sr. Operations Analyst performs operational and analytical support from deal origination through the lifecycle of the transaction, including project management and business analysis support for the development of systems supporting the business, ad hoc reporting and surveillance of existing transactions in the following Alternative Markets lines of business: Private Mortgage Insurance Solutions, Government Mortgage Insurance Solutions, and Structured Capital Solutions. The Sr. Operations Analyst works independently with limited supervision/oversight by management.

    • Partners with Line of Business SVP/VP’s in a deal team environment; balancing and prioritizing requests from multiple sources within Alternative Markets and Arch entities.
    • Utilizes analytical, problem solving and data management skills to design/develop/enhance systems/processes necessary to support the business.
    • Collaborates with Line of Business SVP/VP’s in the development of systems, processes and business improvements and new product development.
    • Collaboratively designs, develops and prepares internal/external reporting to monitor the performance of all new and existing deals within the portfolio.
    • Responsible for reviewing, operationalizing, and adhering to legal agreements.
    • Provides underwriting assistance in the onboarding and maintenance of GSE structured transactions.
    • Serves as a liaison between the Line of Business by coordinating the onboarding and on-going maintenance of structured transactions with internal/external parties for each Line of Business.
    • Takes full ownership for one or more of processes, reports, procedures, structured products and will be considered the departmental representative in any process improvement, software development, and participation in cross-functional teams/projects.
    • Authors business requirements, data mappings and transformations, and other documentation
    • Designs testing strategies and plans, perform user acceptance test exercises to ensure results are acceptable and meet requirements.
    • Using tools such as Excel, Access, SQL Server, and others, directly query, assess, and analyze data to ensure requirements are being met.
    • Serves as liaison between Developers and Lines of Business teams to keep development work and production environment working smoothly.
    • Leads the remediation of production issues/incidents
    • Ensures all required steps and actions are captured in project plans and that project timelines are specified.
    • Establishes software development standards, processes, procedures, and methodologies.
    • Interacts and correspond professionally with team members, project management, clients, and other stakeholders.
    • Responsible for continuing to develop knowledge of the mortgage insurance market, structured finance and fixed income markets as well as staying abreast of current events that may impact those markets via internal and external news sources.
    • Performs ad-hoc analysis requests and special assignments as needed.

    • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office Access, Excel, Power BI and PowerPoint skills-advanced proficiency in formulas and macros and presentation design.
    • Programming knowledge and advanced proficiency in SAS or SQL and familiarity with mortgage systems and AS400
    • Strong project management and business analysis Skills.
    • Proven ability to meet deadlines.
    • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Detail-oriented and reliable.
    • Excellent presentation, oral and written communication skills.

    Required Education/Experience 

    • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Information Technology required or equivalent work experience.
    • 5-8 years’ mortgage insurance, reinsurance, mortgage, financial services industry experience required.

    This position will require 20-40% travel.
