    The Position

    The Sr. Statistical Analyst provides analytical support for deal origination, ad hoc reporting and surveillance of existing transactions in the following Alternative Markets lines of business: Private Mortgage Insurance Solutions, Government Mortgage Insurance Solutions, and Structured Capital Solutions.

    • Partners with Line of Business SVP/VP’s in a deal team environment; balancing and prioritizing requests from multiple sources within Alternative Markets and Arch entities.
    • Utilizes analytical, problem solving and data management skills with abilities to process large data sets and develop logical code that is repeatable by any team member.
    • Collaborates with Line of Business SVP/VP’s in the development of database to be utilized for research, analytical tools, reporting and presentation materials.
    • Processes large amounts of data, including monthly cash flows, consolidate into form templates and interpret and explain results. 
    • Collaboratively designs, develops and prepares internal/external reporting to monitor the performance of all new and existing deals within the portfolio.
    • Performs ad-hoc analysis requests and special assignments as needed.
    • Takes full ownership for one or more of processes, reports, procedures, structured products and will be considered the departmental representative in any process improvement, software development, and participation in cross-functional teams/projects.
    • Responsible for continuing to develop knowledge of the mortgage insurance market, structured finance and fixed income markets as well as staying abreast of current events that may impact those markets via internal and external news sources.

    • Advanced proficiency in SAS, SQL, R programming skills required.
    • Knowledge and understanding of predictive models within the mortgage and/or financial services industry.  
    • Advanced Microsoft Office Access, Excel, Power BI and PowerPoint skills-proficient in formulas and macros and presentation design.
    • Proven ability to meet deadlines.
    • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Detail-oriented and reliable.
    • Excellent presentation, oral and written communication skills.

    Required Education/Experience 

    • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Statistics, Mathematics, or Economics required or equivalent work experience. Advanced degree in Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, or Economics preferred.
    • 5-8 years mortgage insurance, insurance, mortgage, financial services industry experience required.

    **20-40% travel required.
