  • The Position

    The Front Desk Receptionist provides high level coverage at the company reception area, including answering and directing incoming calls, greeting and assisting visitors and working on special administrative support assignments. He/She operates independently on most assignments and may provide general day to day work direction to temporary contractors.


    Job Responsibilities

    • Answer and forward incoming telephone calls
    • Greet, assist, and direct guests and vendors, including check in/out and issuing security badges
    • Receive and log incoming packages and other deliveries. Call recipient to inform them of the package arrival and secure packages/deliveries at desk when necessary
    • Report security risk activity to building guards, human resources, and administrative services and report telephone fraud incidents to IT services support teams
    • Maintain and order office supplies for employees; create PO’s for non-IT employees
    • Follow administrative services policies and procedures regarding 911 emergencies, threat procedures, and generating automated call system message the event of an emergency
    • Create employee and visitor security ID badges and add appropriate building and elevator access
    • Maintain employee parking logs and validate visitor parking
    • Train temporary receptionist as needed
    • Complete data entry and filing assignments as requested
    • May provide back up and support to all areas of facilities services

    Required Skills/Experience

    • Required knowledge and skills would typically be acquired through a high school diploma or equivalency, plus 2 years of related experience or training

    Desired Skills/Experience

    • Good computer software skills, including MS Office software products
    • Basic understanding of shipping and receiving practices and procedures as well as basic knowledge of off-site document storage
    • Advanced communication skills to effectively deal with visitors in a professional and courteous manner to present a positive image
    • Excellent customer service orientation
    • Strong writing and mathematical skills
