  • The Position

    Based in Raleigh, North Carolina, the Treasury Analyst will be part of the developing Global Treasury Practice at Arch. They will be responsible for the development and maintenance of planning and analysis tools for Arch Capital Group, supporting the Treasury function and all goals and objectives of the team. 

     

    Domestic U.S. and international travel will be required on occasion.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Develop capital and liquidity analytics for the diverse, international insurance and supporting legal entities
    • Analytical modelling of capital and liquidity requirements at legal entities against various standards including Statutory Capital, non-regulatory stakeholder, and rating agency model outputs
    • Collaborate with FP&A, Accounting, Actuarial, and ERM to maintain capital projections under various scenarios across multiple entities and over varying time horizons
    • Support all project related activity for Treasury team by providing analytical, research, and planning support
    • Maintain all records relating to capital actions and support
    • Prepare regular and ad-hoc reporting materials for various stakeholders, internal and external, including board of directors, internal committees, regulators, and customers
    • Develop suite of performance metrics and reporting to monitor and assess capital and liquidity flows throughout the group and to target optimum capital and liquidity targets
    • Identify trends and developments that impact the current and future capital requirements of each operating company
    • Maintain and report internal dividend and contribution plans and coordinate actions across subsidiaries
    • Support the ownership of governance initiatives in conjunction with Treasury and ERM and provide regular reporting to identify areas of non-compliance or potential violation and remedy accordingly
    • Promote consistency of processes across a range of Treasury responsibilities throughout the group whilst seeking opportunities for improvement 

    • Provide Treasury expertise to group initiatives and drive enterprise value

    • Liaise with contacts, both with group and corporate teams to collaborate on any matters related to capital, liquidity, and risk

    Required Skills/Experience

    • 3-5 years' Treasury or Finance related experience, preferably in the insurance industry 
    • Must be willing and able to adapt to changing business demands while managing a range of objectives and work with a diverse global group of internal partners

    Desired Skills/Experience

    • Action oriented and self-motivated to bring tasks to conclusion and on time through a combination of collaboration and independent contribution
    • Strong analytical, problem solving, decision-making, strategic thinking, and planning skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
    • Detailed understanding of capital planning, corporate finance, forecasting, investment concepts, practices, and methods
    • Financial, statistical, and quantitative modeling skills
    • Ability to take initiative, challenge the status quo, and develop thoughtful solutions to business requirements across the organization
    • Strong business acumen and ability to see the big picture
    • Excellent communication (written/verbal), interpersonal, and presentation skills to effectively interface with and influence internal/external contacts
    • Advanced proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel

     

     

    Education

    • Required experience would typically be acquired through a Bachelor's degree in finance or related field; MBA preferred
    • CPA, and/or CFA preferred
