Mid-level attorney to work with Arch’s Enterprise Product Development team within Corporate Underwriting Services (CUS).
A Product Development attorney in Arch Insurance’s Enterprise Product Development group is responsible for drafting and reviewing insurance policy language that meets the company’s needs.
We are seeking a mid-level attorney to work in Arch Insurance’s Product Development team within Corporate Underwriting Services (CUS) to service Arch Insurance’s Executive Assurance division.
The Executive Assuance division of Arch Insurance has a team of underwriting professionals that specialize in providing Management Liability Insurance to a broad range of industries. These divisions are divided into specialty units: Large Commercial Group, Financial Institutions and Financial Servcies, Alternative Asset Proection, Growth and Middle Market, and Non-Profit.
Review, draft and create insurance policies and related forms for Directors & Officers, Employment Practices Liability, Fiduciary Liability, Fidelity/Commercial Crime, Kidnap & Ransom, Professional Liability, and associated insurance products in the admitted and non-admitted marketplaces.
Communicate and collaborate with Underwriters, Managers, Claim Attorneys, and Compliance to ensure products remain competitive while protecting profitability.
Draft and/or facilitate responses to insurance department inquiries regarding form-related matters including the development of state amendatory and other form adjustments to meet department requests specific to the Arch business unit.
Interact with state Insurance and Financial related regulatory agencies as requested by Arch Compliance department in conjunction with the Arch business unit.
Help business unit identify and prioritize product development needs.
Remain apprised of and monitor U.S. case law, regulations, legal trends and emerging issues affecting insurance coverage
7 - 10 years of commercial insurance contract drafting with strong understanding of D&O insurance coverages and marketplace.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Thorough understanding of insurance contract language and legal precedent.
Ability to manage projects from concept to fruition with minimal oversight.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to review and assess the impact of legal decisions and court cases on insurance contract language.
