The Position

The Systems Engineer III is primarily responsible for Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline and infrastructure automation. The Systems Engineer III will continue to mature our DevOps journey.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Supports and works with agile teams to mature automated processes, such as assisting and executing build management, continuous integration, environment deployments, release management and continuous monitoring.
  2. Maintains standards, configurations, and scripts dealing with cloud-based and on-prem instances and services.
  3. Provide servers / environments to the development teams to allow the easy creation/update/deletion of needed test environments.
  4. Supports and works with other engineers in the automation and set up of new servers, switches, firewalls, load balancers and operating systems in both on premise and cloud-based infrastructures for the execution of Infrastructure as Code.
  5. Reviews logs to support security processes; ensures the infrastructure and build pipeline is running optimally and automated and scheduled operations are successful.
  6. Plans, documents, implements, and oversees infrastructure upgrades and configuration changes.
  7. Recommends, purchases, and evaluates new technologies based on business, end-user, and technology requirements and expertise.
  8. Assists in the design of and participates in disaster recovery planning, testing, and response with a focus on system recoverability.

Required Skills/Experience

Knowledge & Skills:

  1. 2-3 years’ experience in DevOps, scripting and programming languages.
  2. Experience with monitoring tools for infrastructure monitoring, reporting, and alerting processes.
  3. Firm understanding of RedHat’s OpenShift platform.
  4. Demonstrated success in supporting development and infrastructure teams.
  5. Site reliability engineering experience.
  6. Expertise in proactive management of production systems.
  7. Rotating on call duties and supporting code releases.
  8. Experience with Load Balancing, Java virtual machines, Kubernetes, Containers, Microservices, Middleware, Application Performance Monitoring, Logging. Splunk or similar log aggregation dashboarding and reporting.
  9. 2-3 years’ experience in DevSecOps.
  10. 2+ years’ experience with Terraform, Ansible, or similar configuration automation technology in a real-world deployment.

Desired Skills/Experience

Desired Knowledge & Skills:

  1. Certifications in RHEL Systems Administration and/or Openshift Administration.
  2. Working knowledge in HarnessIO, Open Policy Agent, and the Go programming language.
  3. Working experience with BigIP f5 load balancers.


  1. Required knowledge & skills would typically be acquired through a bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field plus 5+ years of related experience.
  2. The ideal candidate will have experience in the solutions delivery space (e.g. creating and deploying applications from at least one of the popular modern language stacks).
