The Principal Cloud and DevOps Architect is a senior level infrastructure architecture individual contributor that will create and define the strategy and governance around cloud adoption and solutions, automation, and DevOps technology and processes for Arch Insurance.  This is a hands-on, non-ivory tower role.  She/he will work closely with infrastructure engineering teams, application development teams, and IT leadership to help Arch realize the benefits of the cloud quickly, efficiently, and cost-effectively.  The Cloud and DevOps Architect is a practical technologist and an evangelist who will drove both short- and long-term benefits for continuous improvement, and is a believer in IT automation, DevOps, and agile practices, and will continuously evolve the platforms and processes that enable same. She/he drives the Enterprise Architecture strategies, procedures, best practices, technology selection, and governance in cloud technology and DevOps. Areas of focus include cloud provider service selection, solutions architecture for application refactoring for cloud, cloud service selection, SaaS evaluation and integration, DevOps tooling, integration, and processes, cloud inventory, security, and governance, and review of cloud utilization and cost with recommendations for optimizations.  As a type of infrastructure architect, the Cloud and DevOps Architect is strong in infrastructure generally, and understands networking (especially as it relates to cloud connectivity), security, end user technology, and provisioning of compute and storage. The Corporate Chief Technology Officer (Corp CTO) role reports into the Corporate Chief Information Officer (CIO) and is responsible for standards, architectures, frameworks and technology awareness for innovative digital and data technologies across Arch globally.   Externally, the Corp CTO is expected to be a Leader that can scan the marketplace and establish partnerships with external organizations in order to accelerate the delivery of transformational digital & data technology. Working in close partnership with our Arch wide IT Leadership teams, the CTO will continuously evaluate emerging technologies and InsurTech market developments and their applicability to Arch.   Internally, the Corp CTO is responsible for collaborating with Arch Business partners and IT Delivery teams to develop a shared vision across the organization, creating opportunities using software and data driven technologies & services, reusable frameworks, and common technology processes to enable Arch business and digital goals. The Corp CTO will co-chair the Corporate Enterprise Architecture Committee (EAC) and its processes which works across Arch affiliates and groups to define Arch wide technology standards. The Corp CTO will closely work with all other affiliate CTOs (or equivalents) particularly with the CTO – Corp Infra who is responsible for the Core Infrastructure technology services. Corp CTO is responsible for defining and managing the central repository of reusable technology solutions, architectural patterns, and best practices that can be delivered to Arch segments and affiliates for ease of development, integration, and deployment.   This position will be located in New Jersey or North Carolina, and will required occasional travel across Arch.
